Today the Daisy's went to the Delhi Fire Department. The girls had a great time seeing all of the equipment, trucks, and rooms that the Firemen use. They got to sit in the training room, tour the museum, get in the trucks, hear the sirens, and bells, see the mess hall, and dorm rooms, the training tower, and workout room. They showed them everything about the station, even the locker room, and laundry room. It was very interesting the the Firemen were great. I didn't know that Cincinnati had the first paid firemen, and that Delhi now owns Cincinnati's first working fire engine from 1819, or that their goal is to have the truck out the door in under a minute and a half from the time they get the call. I think everyone had a great time and learned a lot.
Ms. Sarah dressed in the fire suit with the girls in front of the ladder truck.
Piled in the back of the abulance.
Lined up in front of the police car waiting to hear the sirens on the ambulance, I loved seeing them all with their fingers in their ears in anticipation.
Natalie in the museum next to the fire engine from 1819.
Walking down the training tower to the basement where the work out room, and showers are.
Thank you Delhi Fire Department for a wonderful Field Trip!!
